Description

The Saga Classic Golf Club is located in Taku City, Saga prefecture. Taku City is known by Confucian Village which is located in center of Saga prefecture. It is 8 km from Takeo-Kitagata IC of the Nagasaki Expressway and it takes 25 minutes from JR Takeo-Onsen Station by car. The club has a large area of 1.25 million square meters on the hilly area of Taku City, and it is the newest 18 hole champion course in Saga Prefecture. The course is the first course that designed by Kyoji Nakamura. His design is based on Osamu Ueda’s design philosophy because his master Shoichi Suzuki studied under Osamu Ueda. Shoichi Suzuki has designed a lot of tournament courses that represent Japan. The courses have unique curvaceous beauty.

The course was selected as the venue of the 2007 Kyushu Amateur Championship that represents Kyushu. At the final match, the first cut of rough was made on the fairway and it is maintained as it was at that time. The style of cutting low around the green is Tsukane Competition Chairman’s intention who attaches importance the spin control and it was formed at the 2012 Kyushu Open Championship. The course evolves with every tournament and it is familiar to many players.

At the OUT course 1st hole, the teeing shot can be play comfortably but the second shot is requied the accuracy of the distance because it is downhill. You should better get a good score till the 3rd hole because there are many difficult hole from 4th hole. In particular, the final hole has the distance as if the par-5 hole and if you drop the second shot into the right depression, it will be difficult to get a par.

Compared with the OUT course, the IN course has many narrow width holes and it requires accurate shots. The 11th hole is a par-3 hole that has a valley and Mt.Hachiman can be overlooked in the front. The 12th hole is a vast downhill par-5 hole and it has 609 yards. After the three holes, it comes long and short distance holes alternate. It is important to get a good score at the shot distance holes. At the second shot of the final 18th hole, it requires high skills and breve because it is downhill and there are a pond and a bunker.
